Oil Paintings

In 2020, after more than 10 years of working almost exclusively digitally, I started painting with oils again. I still remember the feeling I had when I saw the great masterpieces in the galleries of London. I was overwhelmed to the point of tears. I stood there wishing I could experience what it is like to create something so utterly beautiful... Working digitally has many unique advantages, and digital art has a beauty of its own, but the experience of classical painting is unique: holding the brush in your hand, mixing the buttery colours on the palette, and creating something that exists in reality, not just behind a screen, creating a time capsule through each brushstroke that records the artist's gestures forever... what a wonderful thing! 

What a joy it is to paint, to create a beautiful object and to bring to life an image that previously existed only in your imagination!
