"Disposable People" - English

"Disposable People" is a graphic novel that depicts the Alzheimer's disease from a first-person point of view, whilst touching on the themes of fatherly love, family, suffering and faith. The main characters of the story are John, an elderly man who battles his aggravating dementia, and his daughter, Lisa, a successful business woman, wife and mother of two, who can't find the time needed to care for her father and takes him to a nursing home. It is here that we experience together with John his confusing and overwhelming journey through a labyrinth of memories, culminating with and his final rescue from despair into the light.

The book aims to bring awareness on the subject of dementia and to rehabilitate elderhood and its perception in today's society.
